Lessons in Life

Lesson to self : never work someplace where you are forced to do unethical things, that go against your standards. When you are put into a position that makes you uncomfortable...run...run..fast and get out.
So, I have been helping a friend out working for her while she is away visiting her family for the last month and half. The last time I filled in was not as bad as this time. First of all let me explain that I have been working as a receptionist @ a Chiropractic office for my friends step-father.
Well the last month has been hell. Seriously hell for me. I am not happy...the moment I step into this building I just want to choke this idiot for whatever reason it may be. First of all he thinks he is the greatest think to have ever walked this planet & he is the best Dr. in the Universe. Dude you are a fucking chiropractor...get over yourself. I honestly do not like how he works on me it's so uncomfortable that I wanted to punch him everytime he has touched me. When someone tells you to lighten the pressure you are supposed too. Not go deeper. At least that is what we learned in Massage School. The Client/Patient is in control of the session, not the practioner.
That is not all that is only part of it. Now I am forced with the decision to blow this guy in for insurance fraud as well. He wants me to sign people in who have even stepped foot into this office and then bill their insurance for a treatment that they did not receive. This is so unethical and beyond my practice - that I lied to get out of working here any longer than I need to. I would much rather be unemployeed then forced to work in this situation. What he is doing is fraud and is a felony. Something that I do not want to be a part of.
So now I feel responsible for having to blow this idiot in. But hestitate because I am friends with his step-daughter and granddaughter. And fear what may happen to them. But at this point I feel like I need to take a stand and do the right thing. It's not fair to those who can not afford insurance, but yet have someone cheating and stealing from the system making healthcare insurance prices to rise.
I have read many articles where chiropractors are the number 1 cause of fraud. And now I have experienced. I find it very dishonerable and like I said unethical. I fear this idiot will continue to do these unethical practices if I don't take a stand and do the right thing.
At first I wasn't going to do it, but after much debate with my conciouses I need to do this. And stop these unfair and unethical practices. He said to me he doesn't get paid enough and so forth - well- Change your lifestyle - you don't have to have to live like a millionaire which you are not
Also don't have to talk about people (ie myself) about how we live and our lifestyles and how much lower of standard we are on society. Shit like that pisses me off...this guy is not better than me or anyone else. Actually I think he is worse for how he runs his practice. He's a bottom feeder and douchebag if you personally ask me.
